6 BOOKS EVERYONE SHOULD READ

Mar 27, 2022

Here's a fun fact about me: I never used to read books.

For most of my life I could count the amount of books I had read on one hand. And each of those books I had only read because I needed to for school. And even then... I mostly googled summaries because I didn't want to read the whole book!

My mum always read stories to me when I was little and I remember loving books as a child. So I'm not entirely sure what happened after that...

And then one year, I decided to become a reader. My goal was to read 12 books in a year. Now that may not seem like many for some, I know people that read like 50 books a year! But for me, it was huge. I didn't quite get to 12 that year but I did read 9 and learned to make reading a habit.

Since then I've added a few more to my list and these are some of my favourites that I think everyone should read.

The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
Funnily enough, this was the first book I read after making the decision to start reading. I couldn't put it down and have referred back to it many times since. The Alchemist is book that will inspire you to listen to your heart and follow your dreams, something I think we all need to do!

Happy Pocket Full of Money - David Cameron Gikandi
This book had been recommended to me many times, for a reason. This book isn't about having loads of money, as you might assume, it's about creating "wealth consciousness". Learn how to use internal mantras to develop wealth consciousness, how to be deliberate about your thoughts and intentions and how to create abundance and joy in life. This book changed a lot for me, I hope it does for you too.

The 4 Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz
A quick read that is simple, yet so powerful. Be impeccable with your word. Don't take anything personally. Don't make assumptions. Always do your best. I remind myself often of these 4 simple agreements and it has definitely had a very positive impact on my life.

Ikigai - Francesc Miralles and Hector Garcia
A book that will inspire you. What is the purpose of your life? What motivates you to get out of bed every morning? The answer is your ikigai. It is an age-old Japanese ideology that has been associated with the country's long life expectancy. It's a quick, simple read, yet incredibly inspiring with practical solutions to help you find your purpose of life (= ikigai).

The Magic - Rhonda Byrne
This book will take you on a 28-day journey that teaches you how to find more gratitude in life. I've completed the full 28 days a few times and each time I take so much away from it. I think we can all find more gratitude in our everyday life and this book is the perfect tool to do so. And who knows... it might just change your life 🙂

In The Flo (for the girls!) - Alisa Vitti
This is a must-read book for every woman out there! "Unlock your hormonal advantage and revolutionise your life" - This book will teach you how to use your 28-day cycle to optimise your time, nutrition, fitness, work and relationships. I was absolutely blown away reading In The Flo. I learned so much about myself and it has truly had a huge positive impact on my own health and wellbeing. I highly recommend it!

Happy reading!

Lots of love,
